Thermal Transfer Specs. There are many ways to define the thermal ribbon you are looking for. Here are some key specification to look for to find the ribbon that fits your printer.

Ribbon Width: This is how wide the ribbon is. Many thermal transfer printers have a maximum width which can range from as little as 1" up to 6". It is recommended that you purchase the ribbon that spans the width of your label printer recommends.

Core Size: Your machine will lave a place where you place the ribbon on. This is the core holder. The common core size is 1" and sometimes 3". Please make sure you know the core size or the label may not.

Outer Dimater: This is the thickness of the thermal ribbon roll the printer can hold inside itself. Some printers have a much higher outer diameter limit than one is use to purchasing ribbons for. You maybe be able to save money by purchasing a larger roll.

Ribbon Length: This is how long the ribbon is. Ribbon length are measured in feet. The more the ribbon length, the bigger the outer diameter.

Printing Face: Depending on the brand of thermal transfer machine used, such as Zebera vs Datamax, the diameter, the printing face of the label can be wonuded facing in, or facing out. For example, Datamax is facing in and Zebra faces out.
